JENSEN LOIS, 89, of Flushing, MI
Lois passed from her earthly life on May 14, 2017. Funeral Service will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Court St. United Methodist Church, 225 W. Court St., Flint, MI, with visitation from 9:30 to till the time of service. Pastor Jeremy Peters officiating. Interment at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Reigle Funeral Home, 5501W. Pierson Rd., Flushing, MI. Family and friends will miss her love and support for others and remember her dedication to many organizations, especially her beloved Court Street Methodist Church. Born to Clyde & Delma Stanhope of Flint in 1928, she was a graduate of Flint Central High School, attended business classes at Flint Junior College (now MCC) and Central State Teachers College (now CMU). In 1948, Lois married Robert Jensen, who preceded her in death. She worked for the Vernors Company on Saginaw Street, the GMI Payroll Department until 1953, when she left to raise her sons, Chris (Patti) of SC and Barry (Theresa) of Flushing. She continued working with her husband to establish and serve as bookkeeper at Davison Road Glass. Lois is also survived by her grandchildren, Janell (Derek) Pitman of SC; James Prow of SC; Julie Jensen of NJ and Matthew Jensen of SC, her sisters MaryLou (Frank) Pifher of Indian River; Elizabeth (David) Rose of Montrose and sister-in-law Patricia (Harold) Jensen-Giannone of FL, cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters Virginia (Arthur) Neiger and Phyllis (Ray) Willick. Lois was dedicated to her church, sharing her knitting talent by creating 45 prayer shawls, cooking and serving luncheons. She was active in the Court Street Friendship Circle, also many years at both Genesee Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Guild and Genesys Gift Shop. She served as the Buick Club Town Chapter Treasurer for many of her nearly 50 years in the club, enjoyed driving her 66' and 67' Buicks with Joe & Bernice Taubitz. Lois loved traveling with Robert Kaufman, they had many wonderful times. She was a Red Hat lady and had great fun with their zany outings. Lois was proud of her Eagle Scout sons, grandson and GS Gold Award granddaughter. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Court Street Methodist Church, Boy Scout Water and Woods Council, or Downtown Outreach Ministry Flint in her name.
